SeasonaL DepressioN

seasonal depression
is in session
the calamity is sizzling in the booth
like a rotten and spoiled tooth
cold to the touch
ailments swollen & such
formation takes a scolding seat
malnourished and empty is the street
past is left open like a twisted rope
barefoot in journey seeking hope
while summoned to the river
naked and exposed, there i stood in a shiver
like the roots planted next to me
engulfed by the wind and tree
before i knew it, i jumped
with my flesh slumped
inside the cold water
an underground battle became a deep slaughter
pierced by the freeze
shaken by blistering leaves
i’ve fallen and only desire sleep
though these waves thrust me deep
and my dreams creep
remnants remain floating at the top
the lighthouse flickers as though it may stop
with the shine on the line
and my mind crossed yet another time
for this reason
i wish this season to be dismissed
as i drown remiss…

Interrogate The ‘Why’

1.jpeg

  1. “I can’t speak for anyone else, but I either know or I don’t know.”
  2. “It is only by grace through faith that we are saved. It is sort of like saying can you be saved if someone is reaching down the grab you from a sinking ship, but you smack the hand, then no you can’t be saved cause you are rejecting what can save you.”
  3. You can have faith and be lost too. In our mindset, we know where we gonna go but in reality, things will throw us off and we can get lost for a little IF we pay attention to that escape that is prepared for us to exit to that right path. So either way, both sides can get lost with or without faith. We just need to wake up and pay attention.”
  4. “Only in case one is religious.”
  5.  “If you’re sincere.”
  6. Belief = Faith Faith=Belief.
  7. “You can have all the faith in the world and still the one doing the saving can still choose to say no.”2.jpeg
  8. I Like To Believe That All Roads Lead Home.”
  9.  “If you ask from religious folks their answer is yes.”
  10. “All forks in the roads lead to a destination.”
  11. “Lost or found – faith has little to nothing to do with it.”
  12. “Sometimes being lost is better than being found rather than being taken back to a house that isn’t a home.”
  13. “Yes, because if you don’t keep the faith – you are already lost, but what’s wrong with being lost?”
  14. “Faith is neither here or there – it’s a word to describe hope which we all have to some extent. Not having this, doesn’t make you anymore at ‘home’ than you being lost until you get to your destination.”3.jpeg
  15. “Faith is a worthy substitute. Our “gut feeling” comes from nowhere else but the highest. Some people call it common sense. Some people call it instinct. If people ask for evidence of proof, I believe that your mind and feelings are sufficient enough.”
  16. “Faith is born of evidence given in mysterious forms.”
  17. With me, I can see the evidence unfolding but it’s not ready to give birth yet. But my faith is like it has to be there, it just has to be there, oh it’s going to be there, heck yeah it’s there!!! BAM there it is after the fact. It scares me and then I’m reminded of Him that I asked and my faith was just strong to break those walls down!
  18. Do I believe in God? Heaven and Hell? Evidence and proof of a feeling, proof of our own human minds. What is right and wrong? Judgements! Create feelings! Hate is a choice. We must unlearn! I will say this for the record. I have been told I am going to Hell because of my demonic queer, lifestyle. So ungodly! This is what I tell the people who tell me this.. To be honest, I would be happy and grateful to go to Hell. Finally surrounded by my LGBTQ family, it would be one big happy LGBTQ dance party. I would be much safer in hell, then I am, here, on earth. The reality I live, is that people want me dead, because of religion, and religious beliefs, is that being Christian? I thought that was 1 of the ten commandments,”thou shall not kill?” Oh but you’re not actually taking a gun and pulling the trigger, but you are! You are separating yourself individually and now as a collective whole with judgments, right and wrong, those bullets are silent and yet very deadly… and Yes there are real bullets too. People actually die in the LGBTQ community. Someone in my LGBT family was murdered, found dead, two weeks ago, this exists people. Check your faith people – what you believe.
  19. If it’s a belief, it’s not evident.
  20. I think the very definition of faith is to believe without evidence. If someone tells me that there’s money growing on the tree in their yard, I’m going to want evidence before I turn up with my basket and start picking! But faith is almost a form of esoteric evidence, where you know something is true, even though you don’t have the evidence required to prove it to someone else. Luckily, we don’t have to, which is why faith is usually either a very personal, or else community-focused thing.
I’m genuinely puzzled by religions that try to convert people because they literally have no evidence to show, so they are trying to somehow generate faith in another’s heart, and that’s like trying to make a rainbow. You can’t make a rainbow, only God (or the Universe/alternative higher power/science) can do that, and it typically needs a particular set of circumstances in the lead up to it.
In general (although there are exceptions), the bigger the storm, the brighter the rainbow. Similarly, the bigger the crisis, the brighter faith shines in someone’s heart when it finally arrives (and it probably doesn’t ring the doorbell!)
  21. Not having evidence and believing is Faith.
  22. Thank you to everyone who participated so far! You may or may not find your answer here but this series will continue on until July. My goal in providing these answers are not to dissect the categories of where these answers stem from. Philosophy and opinions share the same veins and the goal here is to expose the blood that gets us going. Although, we are not always going. Standing still in the middle of our quest – while we interrogate the ‘WHY’. What leads us to these various paths? The more we ask – we get a little bit closer.

Knot For, Width

As a unit, we can tie the knot. Things are expanding in width so harnessing the edges are crucial at this point. If we keep on walking the way we are – the more our shoes become untied.

This is why a perfect knot must be made. It’s not my ego talking when I say “I don’t work for you – I’m working with you.” If I was working for you, the knot would constantly come loose.

You can’t-do what I do and I can’t-do what you can do.Therefore, I am working with you. As a team, we are expanding width.

It can be hard to say something more when our silence speaks volumes. Silence is indeed a weapon, one that doesn’t wield predictable swaying. Somebody can talk until the roof is torn down while someone else decides they rather stay silent.

When the two of us are in the same room – tasting our own orbits – spiraling in our own lands: why is it one then stumbles on the realization that the other can’t swim? If one of us could teach, the other would then have to understand. The length of our distance is not too far but our width must be measured properly.

Don’t you hate it when your pants sag to the ground?! Constantly having to pull them up because they’re not quite fit. I suppose if you lost a little weight, it’s a pleasant surprise the first time. It would only be a matter of time until you’d need a belt, tho.

Pulling up the extra slack so that like your shoes – they’d be tied down to you.

I’m saying something clever – whimsical enough to paint what’s invisible in clear sight. I’m careful as to not paint with too wide of a brush. I don’t want to miss the edges and the fine details which make up the mosaic. It’s the details that make the difference – especially from afar.

Whenever I bring meaning – I must also accept losing what was aimed to tie me up. The purpose of a knot is to negate what is loose.

Picture it like this: Whenever you tie a knot – you want the strength of your pull to be strong enough to last. (At least to keep up from steady making a knot repeatedly) If your shoes come untied, chances are you didn’t do it tight enough. We do what we do for comfortable walking.

In summary:

Two become one. A hundred becomes one. A thousand becomes one. A million becomes one. All become one unit. It’s no longer just one but a complete team. KNOT FOR BUT WIDTH.

UNLEARN THE MISINFORMED

It’s necessary for us to engage. To challenge the systems which have been in power for so long. To ask questions about the way things flow. We all live different experiences and unfortunately, some of us have lives that operate under prejudice and targeted discrimination.

Prejudice and discrimination is a very formal and regulated doctrine. It involves rules that are spoken and enforced. Think of it like an app. It comes with its notifications and individual functionality. It has a mission and no matter how the intent is declared – is very direct about its subject of interest. We have to be willing to have a real conversation about the reality of division. Systems have been in place to separate us from each other.

I’m all for opening a real conversation about issues of discrimination and prejudice. Justice means being there for one another in our time of need. We can’t blindly turn our eyes to those who are suffering underneath systematic oppression. Even when we break this down to a micro level – we can see how individuals can judge somebody else because they have perceptions that are rooted in ignorance.

It’s never an untimely of a message to let people know you are there for them. You are there through any of the pain they may face. on a global scale – we have to be there for one another. Not allowing our conditions of belief to cripple our understanding for each other. It’s vital for all of us to keep going and to push into higher and brighter plateaus.

Sometimes we are not fully aware as to why we see others the way we do. We come up with catchphrases like “Love The Sinner, Hate The Sin” which ends up corrupting the whole idea of love. It bankrupts the idea of love and what it means to be there for them for who they are.

Venom Sketch

It’s safe to say – I had one of the most amazing weekends of my life! Completely filled with sheer supernatural bliss! Very unprecedented and even as I type these words, I am possessed with such wonder!  “Did that really happen? / Did I really stand steps away from The greatest instrument in modern music? ” Dreams of “Paisley Park” became reality when I actually stepped into the doors! It was a very intimate, and sensual experience that gave my journey a blissful meaning! NOT TO mention, the BEST breakfast!

One of the most exciting elements of this journey this weekend; was meeting the muse, of a poem I wrote not long ago. I saw an image of a feminine figure and she spelled her ink and captured wise pieces! Moments that were sheer poisonous yet appealing. When I went to Minnesota to meet up with my friend Danny L’amour. Through our conversations, I developed such a conversation that realistically she enveloped the writing I wrote. In our depth of sentences, she revealed her essence. I realized while talking to her – she was the woman eye saw while writing this. That had never happened before to me on that level, I was actually meeting the unknown, and it was such a powerful piercing of wonder!

The imagery of soft pastels you cast send a burning reaction down my veins.

Such excitement which is a foretaste of pleasurable manifestations of serene divinity.

With my eyes; I have begun to taste your insight into what dances before you.

In this particular frame, I marvel at the cognitive renaissance your composition lies.

My questions vanish as I allow your continual charm to answer my begging wonders.

Will you stroke me, as you, stroke the brush that highlights into your clouds?

The journey begins at where my thoughts pass before your sketch.

Have you made up the coloring of your distant abbreviations?

Nearly the shadow of your focus arises over your construction.

Blistering levels of venom intoxicate me by the embrace of your wise sketch.

Thank YOU, for being the muse and for being among the wisest sketches. Your artwork is still embedded within me. I am examining the silence you translated to me. I truly believe I have sat under your construction. You’re going to see me! You sold me a city, that I am only lengths away from experiencing! This is true, and the colors are within me!
