blessings // buttons y'all ~ i write about the symbols found in everyday life. i'm usually, all over the place, but there's a rhyme in the para//el : here is where you can push the buttons of meaning and poetic philosophic ramblings. peek around, there's a lot to see. (you may discover a key) thus, may this ongoing rhyme, climb; you into a higher state_so that it may inspire your fate to weigh the minute and ask: hypothetical or faith?
When was the last time you whipped out The P.O.E before settling on a decision?
The process of elimination can be one of the best games to play in your mind. The options made available when one thinks about it, can be extremely overwhelming. Therefore, you save time when you whip out the P.O.E!
Any range of ideas that may or may not be dressed for the occasion await your selection. Think about how often you eliminate many options in the benefit of alternatives, which service your convenience?
White Rice or Brown? Black or Gray? Now or Later?
At any given time you have a wide array of colors and selections to choose from. Shall you stick to what you always do or will you wing it with the hope, it’ll come together? If you don’t want to lose something – it’s better if you’re consistent but even that is a lost of something new.
Just like a car doesn’t know that it’s in a garage, the mind doesn’t realize the many ways it’s distracted in thought. This is why we must eliminate what no longer serves us. However this elimination is a process.
How long of a process? Well that depends on how fast you want it. Faster? It comes with a lost. Slower? It may never turn the corner because the key has yet to be found. (ya forgot where you put your keys!)
The mind keeps running and finding what’s cool and what isn’t. Give yourself space for what you want while also time to understand what you don’t need. You’ll never know until you start the process!
A proper P.O.E experience can make one re-examine just how many higher places are in reach. You don’t ever have to settle. They’re always many levels with various layers.
Eliminating options does not have to mean canceling / substituting one for another but walking down the road, that’s most illuminating. Which is pretty damn cool. The Process of Illumination!
Growing up in New Orleans for me was a privilege, that I don’t take for granted in my childhood. It meant good food, lively music, snowballs, and a rich culture. It also meant around spring time caterpillars would hang from my grandparents oak trees!
I dreaded caterpillars because they were very thick and sticky. There was often a host of caterpillars all crammed together like a pack of sardines. April and May, in particular, meant caterpillars would be everywhere from the sidewalks, bushes, and my grandmother’s porch. This did not mean much to my grandfather when he’d want assistance in cleaning the sidewalk.
“Come on out here boy, this sidewalk won’t brush itself!!” He’d yell.
“But he’s hysterical of those caterpillars!” Gammie would plead!
I’m thankful my Gammie always had my back and considered how I felt! It is through her care and concern, I never had to help my pops clean around outside during the spring! Luckily, I had a brother who didn’t mind as much! 😀
I never shook my fear of them until I left New Orleans. I didn’t see them at all in Texas although I noticed on occasion, I’d catch small moths and butterflies. I’ve grown to appreciate the caterpillar because of its developmental changes. I reference their process often in my life. Looking back at how afraid I was, I now see a misguided fear. Was I afraid of growing? Could I soon break free from the cocoon? The more I learned about their process, the more I appreciated their relevance in all living existence.
I made a short video breaking down an allegorical connection between caterpillars and the flow of your ideas!
That’s like comparing “apples and oranges” well more like tomatoes and apples. I might like tomato’s but not enough in my fruit salad, you dig? It ain’t the same but what really is? Various things share a common ancestry but that does not make it the same species.
It was only a week ago, I discovered Bumble Bee’s do not produce honey like honey bees.
While this may seem like a clear difference – I would classify bees as just those insects that produce honey. I was pressed to find out how wrong I was for so long. Recently, I saved a big ass bumble bee that entered the room because I remembered we have to do our part in ‘Saving the bees for the production of honey. So, here was I worried about the state of bees which doesn’t even produce honey. Which made me wonder about life – something in me wanted to save it because of the benefit it had for the collective. Selfish Much? Indeed.
Many things in life share more in common than not. Did you know “Humans share 50% of our DNA with a banana?” THIS MUST MEAN SOMETHING. Cannibalism right? Likely not. The source of facts is another reason we examine why some statements while they may be true benefits from an additional fact. In other words, just because you can sit in the chair doesn’t mean you should. *Especially if the chair has a broken leg*. This generation is like many others in that we know more than the ones before because of the prevalence of the Internet and how we fit in the social media bubble.
Make no mistake about it – everything we process on the internet is indeed one large bubble. A bubble built on surveillance. Very recently several of my most used apps have ‘updated’ their terms and agreement. I’ve been paying more recent attention to this because these terms may not have my best interest. I’ve learned to accept that when using platforms that are not mine, they have the legal right to change the rules. As long as they let us know what we’re in for if we choose to keep using their services.I was very surprised by how much of what I see is based on what they think I want to see. I like a picture of a cat because cats are cute, not because I want to buy cat food. Some of these algorithms are not only wrong but invasive. It’s like someone buying you a pack of porcelain tile because they heard you mention once that porcelain tile made more sense in a bathroom than wooden floors. The connection shouldn’t be that large of a gap but in most cases on social media targeted ad they are.
A lot of what we hold dear to us is flying away on a string. Bubbles and Balloons share a lot in common. They both float away (Balloons with helium, bubbles with air) and they both can pop without sudden notice. It’s not until you move into another place until you realize just how much you have been keeping. Holding onto that thing we convince ourselves we need to keep when really they’re just collecting dust. When you look through all of it – you end up throwing away most of it. Only keep what you use, only buy what you can’t refuse.
I want to free space and time so that I do not spend too much time consumed by one thing. To help with this, I organized my phone screen to enable a deeper productivity.
This has freed a lot of my time with the help of me remembering – Social Media can just be Social Drainage. It can take up a lot of time and space utilized for other parts of the day. There’s an amazing TED talk, I watched recently which helped put in perspective how we engage the world through our phones and the social bubble we tend to trap ourselves in.
While holding onto the balloon and bubble so closely, never forget it is always so close to popping and breaking away.
I’m dreaming of a world with more zeros. A future filled with information which doesn’t end but repeats. A loop of daily routine found in a prism of ideas, to yield more discovery. How grand it would be, for our future to endlessly reach more experiences of love.
In a time where research is easily accessible – do you ever stop to think – we have enough information already? There’s so much hidden and revealed, there can’t be anything else left for us to know, right? Nah!
There’s plenty of wisdom left to uncover. The love of wisdom is what philosophy is at the center to root. The encouragement that comes from knowledge is awe-inspiring. The potential of knowledge made to good use revives and stimulates your nerves. When information is accessed properly – it aligns your memories to your eventual dreams.
Dreaming is to uncover those random thoughts that slipped through mundanity. *Let’s be Real: Life can be incredibly stagnant and predictable.* In spite of this, A picture that you briefly looked at it – can come back as a mansion of chandeliers. These can all be set to challenge and remind you of an essence meant to be explored when you wake up.
For a moment – picture every seed as a zero. When you plant zeros in the ground – you are essentially planting nothing. That’s what it seems. A small figure that expands into something Grand. All of the proper conditions must be in sync for it to yield a worthy result. Now think of it:
Dreaming of a world with more seeds.
Wouldn’t this be Grand? Where would we plant all of these seeds? They can’t all go into the ground – that would be limiting every other pocket waiting to be filled. Plant seeds in the clouds, souls, Children, etc. You’ll never have a shortage of places to plant seeds.
The more you plant those seeds – your zeros will stand among the many.
My dream is now living life with more seeds. More opportunities that await a future that’s entwined with past and present. It’s not that hard to see. A life that encourages us to plant seeds. To intend for a result which performs positivity.
