November 7th, 2015

when eye look at the the full moon tonight, I’m reminded how my life was changed this day 7 years ago at Paisley Park. i’ll never forget that conversation and feeling. it was spiritual, all aglow, and all encompassing : much how the moon has 8 phases, various stages in between.

This was a night of correction _ a reminder of where I was standing.

i’ve never seen myself as much of a ‘fan’ but appreciator and admirer of his music. it was very clear i admired and some may say even ‘ADORED’ Prince’s music.  (Shoutout to The One!) ❤

I downloaded /purchased all of his (and related) albums and remembered all the lyrics! the music just connected with me. it’s like Prince knew how to ensure all the instruments including silence, we’re always so clear to hear and feel. to this day, truly i am moved. something about that Purple Music!

it was this night where i gave a private tour of paisley park alongside with TrevorGuy to journalists from Europe (pictured above) it was also announced to me for the first time that, Prince would be doing a solo Piano and Microphone Tour all across Europe in 3 weeks!

Alongside with MonoNeon (Bass Guitar) Donna Grantis (Guitarist) , Adrian Clutchfield (Sax & ewi) , and Kirk Johnson (Drums). As for my position? I‘d be working the teleprompter! he assigned me this position because he had watched my videos and was aware of my knowledge of his music and aware that i could keep up with his sudden musical transitions.

this was all so unbelievable to accept. And while this ultimately did not occur due to Ticket Scalping, and him deciding to have the first show at Paisley Park – the mere invitation was enough to transfix my anticipation.

amidst my glory and elation : it was reminded to me by Prince himself _ “You are in this position because you carry a light, you needn’t be shocked; you are here because you belong here!” i had smack myself out the fog of disbelief – it’s like nah man, take another look of what you have and USE IT! You don’t need to be surprised, just go with a smile and do the work!

Share your light and don’t hide it – ‘LIVE OUT LOUD‘ was after all the first song that I received from him in an email. it all became clear to me and my figuring out became glorified, it was like I had seen and walked into the light. Only after being guided by a mentor and oracle. I remember smiling and holding onto this revelation because it was that exact affirmation that encouraged me to continue with my soon to be released project ‘Characters In The Wind‘ which was going to be in New Zealand of that next year in 2016.

It all came at once, much like this memory. I’ve just returned from seeing Metallica in Hollywood, Florida! I’ve been listening to Metallica for about a year now and this being my 3rd show of theirs : it was an amazing experience. Much of it reminded me of how it was like being in the Prince community however this scene is totally different! Ha! They’ve been around for over 40 years and the sound just hits you. Especially when you peep into the different changes they’ve experienced throughout their career. The show I attended was for the ‘Trues’ as it was only songs played from their first two albums on the MegaForce label : ‘Kill Em’ All & Ride The Lightning’.

It was a special experience and I got to share it with my dearest friend, comrade, and sing-out loud to bad songs homie: jamilah! it was a electrifying night with vibrational intensity. From the conviction in Lars Ulrich drum playing, to the emblazoned passion in Kirk Hammett’s guitar playing. Matched with the throbbing resolution of Rob Trujillo’s bass guitar playing, harmonized with James Hetfield’s rhythmic guitar swagger – they bring something signature and sincere.

Experiencing music is all about connecting to the thing which can’t always be explained. It causes you to re-evaluate where you stand in the great congregation of life. All Together Now! (more or on that later in the Upcoming audio book!)

Everyone on this planet has value and importance. Don’t let this backwards system of Capitalism convince you otherwise ! they are constantly feeding us lies all based in individual and backwards ideology that serves only the interests of empire. We can and should work together, how else can we build if we are stuck in our own individual vacuums struggling in silence?

to hell with that! Realize you are a social being. you are breathing air. you desire community! all of us do. even introverts who prefer the company of themselves, still understand the necessity of contact with the other. it can’t be just you. it’s not just you. it’s never just one person.

Connecting with all of the forces that join in harmony is what this struggle is about. It’s not going to be easy because correction is hard to swallow for a lot of folks. Why? Because of liberalism. For those who do not know what Liberalism is a great text on this is by Mao Tse-Tung : in Combat Liberalism he writes:

“To let things slide for the sake of peace and friendship when a person has clearly gone wrong, and refrain from principled argument because he is an old acquaintance, a fellow townsman, a schoolmate, a close friend, a loved one, an old colleague or old subordinate. Or to touch on the matter lightly instead of going into it thoroughly, so as to keep on good terms. The result is that both the organization and the individual are harmed. This is one type of liberalism.”

THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE TO FIGHT EVERY DAY! Because we are all trained and socialized to be liberal on maters. Conflict avoidant. “I don’t talk about X Y Z” All of these avoidances are a result of how the system of capitalism trains us to silence ourselves when we are confronted with truth. We have to fight against that and struggle for a better world.

ALL of that to say : looking at the Full Moon reminded me of some of these notions to also weigh the minutes that have been counted before me! It has been written and said. I’m basking in the glow, the fullness that is to know.

all i’m saying is : a lot is about to change! (👛⛅️🛣️)

WAIT (W3IGH) THE – MINTUTE! TYPO OR FAITH (FAT3)? COMING SOON!

EMBEDDED INDIGO

captions included 🙂

in bed, within the inn – i then go,
soft peddles of a perfumed floral ring
‘a rose’ in me : the call of a bee sting.
entwined in clusters of blue and carpenter’s wood
remains flames of extravagance, shouldering between transgression and what’s expected to be good
at the cocktail’s hour, happy itself – extends into the pour of a whisky sour!

within this writing – i’m inciting : levels of tiny pebbles !
stuck inside the shoe, solving this dilemma is merely paying attention to the clue!
the case of this face is myriad but fallen short of obscene …
when the sense became non – i become a breathless yawn.
quivering into the distant soft tissue, as my tears are signatures of issues.

ranging from emotional neglect and tortured trauma!
but confessions of repentance have been absolved through the teachings of the Dalai Lama! (((it should be noted : the dalai lama and 🧿 DO NOT IDEOLOGICALLY ALIGN, as They’ve worked with the 👀ℹ️🅰️, so….👎🏿 ! i only used their mention due to the rhyme provided on the spare dime in time.)))

i’m kept close by the face of an perplexing ace!
while going through this crisis of
energy – is not at all unexpected …

yet: it does appear suspected

as so much can be said…………..
instead
i’ll pause where my whispers swallow
the voice inside, is a guide to which i follow

the fiction of the white
just might: speak way too soon…..
months of turning pages to the crescent & whole moon

still
awaiting colors, glisten serene
and while the contradictions long to be seen….
dialectically & eclectically : to those that suggest otherwise,
by the sight of their reading eyes? lines indeed, align and surprise!

while : in bed, within the inn – i then know, embedded indigo!

I originally conceptualized the title “embedded indigo” after gathering all of my close friends at Benihana’s in Chanhassen Minnesota! I remember I worked at Mall of America at the time, and TrevorGuy called me around the time, I was leaving work. “Prince is having a music video dress rehearsal for Judith Hill with Eric Leeds, tonight at Paisley Park and you’re invited to bring in a couple of folks. Details forthcoming. Are you down?” “Absolutely, I’ll let my folks know!” I was absolutely ecstatic about going to Paisley Park and to add to that : A music video with two of my favorite musical artists!? I told the ‘True Blues’ (y’all know who you are!) AND we were all excited to be there!

For added context: I had only been to Minnesota 3 months at this point and things were already picking up, as only 2 days ago from this point I got 3 messages that a private party : was happening at Paisley Park and me and my friends had been invited to Paisley! If y’all want a run down of what happened you can watch that here! https://youtu.be/zSQWWAwRWgg

BACK TO BENIHANA’S! So we are all there awaiting what’s the scoop! everybody’s asking me, what’s about to happen!? Obviously I would know right? Well no. Prince never gave any information about what was about to happen, he just told you to prepare and that I did. It was at least 21 of us and none of us did not know what would happen. We were all sharing Prince stories and all guessing all what could go down. Clearly, we were all decked in our finest of clothes. I do remember having blue on at the time.

Suddenly : I get a call from TrevorGuy.

ALL eyes are suddenly on me as my ringer is on and I knew it was the call, we’d all be waiting for. I briskly brushed off into a quiet space, leaving them all in lingering anticipation.

I get back to the phone and hear :

“hey, sorry. Prince is not going to do it tonight. some things came up. sorry, will be in contact soon. peace.”

ALL I felt inside was blue. A deep blue. So deeply on me it felt like a deep url code. not just any kind of blue but a mood indigo like Duke Ellington spoke about. It wasn’t necessarily sadness though, just like someone dipped in a ocean of reflection. How was I going to tell everybody it wasn’t happening!? I remember thinking about dreading the walk of shame back to everyone awaiting what would be the next move.

Soon as i came back to the fold, my head shaking in every direction : everyone knew and we all laughed it off. in fact the rest of the night was spent with many other folks who had been to Paisley throughout the years when this was a common occurrence!

“Oh you mean, driving out in the middle of nowhere before there was ‘modern construction’ because you were told there was a paisley park party at -35 degrees and when he leaves you outside for like 3 hours and then decides at the last minute, nah.” Hahaha

Prince. His way about things were not linear. All throughout the night, I can’t say I was really feeling blue as in sad tho. I was very much energized throughout the laughter that ensued & with good eating though we were not a part of the experience. In many ways this is how I feel about Prince and the anniversaries of his ‘transcendence.’ Which is today. There is no real sadness only memories of joy when listening to the “flames of extravagance” that is Prince.

In many ways it all feels like a parallel vortex when this time comes around, a familiar whisper in the shadows. Whispering deeply, but a jovial memorial indigo.

20 OF 01 feat. 4 444 a.k.a. 2

workout playlist: if you care to jam while you may stretch, do yoga, lift weights, and exercise body form 💪🏾🕺🏾 (CAUT⚠️ON: it will include some dancing but that’s to be expected.) it’s a mix of many songs of varying emotions but a general theme is encoded in the folded harmonies.

this is also in honor of the sublime found in stretching and melodic enchantment. i must say every song resonates with some deep correlation, most of which deal with numbers. (also fumbles) a lot of CrUmBlEs, left on rugs, carpets, and wood. but safe to say, it’s all good!

please do enjoy!

“ If you wave and say goodbye
You will not see me cry
I’ll grab the pillows from our bed
And I’ll knock these stones against my head
sananda never fails at creating a rotational melodic groove, that stings you. this is evidence of that notion.
“ trapped away too long, tired of all the lies! you can’t play me for a fool, cuz i’m leaving it all behind! i’m leaving it all behind!” this dude ROCKS! talk about a groove! one of my favorite guitar solos of ALL TIME! i did like 70 burpees because of this song 😀
“We are strong
We can hold on to each other if we try
And make it right, for you and I
There’s no goodbyes.” ahhh
don’t you miss 80’s pop ballads like this? so extra! kind of like me!
“And I am not afraid to try it on my own I don’t care if I’m right or wrong I’ll live my life the way I feel No matter what I’ll keep it real, you know Time for me to do it on my own” NOBODY CAN SING LIKE WHITNEY. this song proves as much. every time i listen? i get so emotional! but that’s another jam for another day!
If U live N the hills…
Listen
U take 2 many pills
Cuz U’ve lost the thrill
Against ur own will
Stand up & B strong
as much as i love this song and that this was recently released, there’s too much “clicking” within this song. like WAY too much to be a released song. i don’t even have the best ears and i notice it, it finally stops a little half way in, but G whiz yo! nonetheless, great harmonies and the sisters sounds great!!!
“I’m not accustomed to wearing my feelings
In a place that’s so obvious to see
But if eyes don’t lie
There’s a chance that you are not fooling yourself
and me…”
this song is pristinely cinematic and always creates a space of grace, stevie never misses!
“I love you, you love me But we must be sure We may be the best of friends But in the end, it’s true love that wins.”
this song brings back childhood thrills in many colors of sepia and in my
mom’s toyota sequoia!. *we wore this CD out!* Karen Clark absolutely flutters in this song. shoutout to J.Moss backing vocals too!
“loveeee, so many people use your name in vain.” i’ll never forget the moment i heard this song when it first came out. it’s sung flawlessly. one of those songs that just grooves.
“From the very first time I rest my eyes on you, girl
My heart says follow t’rough
But I know, now, that I’m way down on your line
But the waitin’ feel is fine
So don’t treat me like a puppet on a string
‘Cause I know I have to do my thing
Don’t talk to me as if you think I’m dumb
I wanna know when you’re gonna come – soon..”
i don’t want to wait in vain! not for love, whether deep below or high above. i don’t want to wait in vain, cuz’ there’s so much in a name.
“could it be that you, are the one that i longed for : are you…my dream come true?”
dedicated to a special somebody, may you be revitalized in your recovery ❤️‍🩹

DRAGGING THE DRAGON

while lallygagging do so not at the expense of being a ✨popinjay✨. set the rhyme of law. let it be spoken to you like a ✨visceral✨ temptation. may we all be drawn to the throne of ✨perspicacity✨. our company is✨copious✨ enough for everyone to ingest. as we spend time together, we’ll be able to designate who eats the food that didn’t belong to them in the refrigerator. or the ✨idiosyncratic✨ one who sees it ✨atypical✨ to eat with anyone other than those they know.

if we embrace the benefits of being ✨vigilant✨, we may begin to satisfy the distance between day dreams and sleep-walking. the moment you step inside of knowledge, you will discover libraries which are filled with ✨organons✨ and late night dragons.

some groups find it sweet to ✨rhubarb✨ about non-specifics. fill the space with something transparent but not to peril of being a ✨sesquipedalian✨. they that listen only wish for you to come with sufficient ✨alacrity.✨

dragging the dragon – also nicknamed the green lagging – had a terrible wish to blow some fire!!! he did not yet have the access to the wire – but that did not snub his outlandish and steamy attire. the delight that made him smile was the very thing that caused smoke to arise from his nostrils. dragging the dragon meant getting anywhere would take a considerable amount of time.

on one late afternoon, the green lagging imagined standing in the waves of the shore – wishing to be drowned and unwilling to move even as the tides were coming close. the dragon was too careless to learn because it was cuffed underneath. seaweed can do that to you sometimes. if drowning means learning to be friends with the water so be it – the dragon thought.

when you’re dragging the dragon – the fire takes a longer time to come out until FLAME! FLAME! FLAME!

Th3 R3sounding 3

What is it about the number 3 – that finds itself in a charm box? Could it be that 3 is ‘lucky’? Or at least special because of the magic associated with it? “3 is the magic number, oh yes it is!” There’s a lot of reasons to believe that or to draw out connections that correspond with that idea but math has a way of spinning truth or illusion depending on which set of rules you’re using.

The number 3 will have a different association come next year but as it stands now – a flashback of experiences rush through me like lightning. Rarely do we keep up and remember all of the ways we are invested in the activity of daily living. Going to parties. Drinking with friends. Sharing a smoke with the homie. Eating a great meal with loved ones. All of this can happen at any time and become a practice of natural circumstance. If you don’t write down the way these connections are formed you can easily forget them unless they are stored properly. *At least for me, I write it down and forget about it until the occasional reading again.*

Life keeps on going and art helps us remember some of the details we have missed. 2015 was an incredible year for me and while I try not to always look back, sometimes I find myself staring at the things of the past. That year, in particular, had me hooked on purple high – which transformed so many of my experiences.

The purple vortex is so large it has a tendency to color all 2015 with a wide toothbrush as if that’s all that ever happened that year. Obviously, a lot of other things happened, but if you ask the red and blue from Minnesota – all the colors besides purple were all joined together to make a white space. (In other words, it didn’t exist as much as purple) 2015 was also the year I found out, I had to make the difference in where I wanted to go. I was no longer a passenger in someone’s car – I was the chauffeur of all my dreams.

Looking back like Lot’s wife means turning into a pillar of stone. Our memories and reactions to them are forever emblazed in statues. They live on. History is doomed to repeat itself under a new set of circumstances. It doesn’t matter what decision you make today, tomorrow may scoff at it or adjust it like a painting that’s hanging crooked on the wall.

We can’t help to correct or even re-imagine some of the actions of the past. I had a burning need to convey whatever was hot on my heart. Sometimes I succeeded at the vision while other times I just planted a seed that would mature within time. The time has come – after three years, reflection begins to take over. You look back and see those seeds and think of new ways you can remix or remaster.

Creating as a hobby is not the same as creating professionally but the focus of the creator is the same – to create and manifest. Someone may get it while others may get it only to a certain point. The begging question is – Will I be doing this even if money was not involved? Magic never hides its tricks but it may disguise itself in unfamiliar colors.

So what is it about some time periods that stick out to the creator? Maybe the details were not fully crafted or maybe – the fact that something done 3 years ago is enough to excite one to build on it currently. I should point out that 3 to me is a charm. There’s a flow of consciousness that is found in any number. Adding or subtracting can connect to any relevance one believes seriously enough to accept.

Anything can be a message or a window to a fresh perspective. What resounds me about 3 is how much we’ve convinced ourselves of its purpose in our lives.

“1 and 1 and 1 is 3 – got to be a joker, he just do what he please!”

“There is me and then there’s 3 – a trinity of Spirit, Soul, and Mind. Shell. Yoke. White. Past. Present. Future.

The Luxury Of Funkery

When it’s funk – you can pardon the length it takes to prove the point. In fact among all of the distinct solos and rhythmic gliding, who cares if the cup is running over? I remember getting lost in the experience of jams that seemed to last over 30 minutes. I was taken away by the bass and drums – before the guitar or keys ever made their entrance. My feet could not remain still. My face improvised a series of sonnets and joyful disgust. It was ugly. Almost like the spirit of music personally chose me to endow me with the gift of goosebumps over my body.

If you have experienced similar sensations – you know all too well about the luxury of funk. It’s insane and sometimes just ridiculous because sanity goes out the window. It’s something about a thumping bass and horns that blow your head off. If you ever underestimated the power of funk – the funk ain’t ever too far to remind you of its skill. Most of us just look at the table and whatever happens to be on it. We don ’t pay too much attention to what’s supporting it.The legs and bloodline of what helps the table stand are rarely given detailed attention. If you are lost in the groove, rarely is the focus on the buildup. The journey of sound takes you a wide arrange of places.

I was blessed like many others to experience the grace and normality of funk music. The funk was always in my backyard and whenever I needed a flavor I didn’t know I was missing, it would hit me up with no delay. I never got spoiled by it because U Know… “Music Never Lies, You know It’s true!”I had the pleasure to witness Funk on the regular because I lived in one of the Funk Capitals of the world, Minnesota! An unlikely place to some, unless you knew who Mr. Nelson was. Prince is the embodiment of music and while he played around with various kinds of music – funk is the main ingredient in all of his servings over the years. Rock N Roll for him had to be funky.

Sometimes, life itself can toss us into moments of funk. (No surprise there) An unreasonable desire to screw our faces and shake our heads. This has happened much more often as of late, it’s not hard to understand the flow of why this happens. We all know when we are witnessing a luxury. A remarkable experience is embedded in us and becomes the blueprint of how we value the experience. It’s important to remember the vastness of how many diamonds, emeralds, gold, silver, and jewels exist underneath the core. There are many properties that exist and none of them are mutually exclusive. How we consider worth is often one of heated discourse. The burning need to compare experiences tend to invalidate the individual pieces that embody the whole. (See; Beyoncé vs XYZ)

Nothing is merely created out of the blue. There is an important process and combinative forces that join together. Of course, we don’t think about this. The focus is often on the finished product which is what leads me to my next point about the funk. Funk music takes it time. It might hit you quickly or the bass may be buried in the mix – but it’s there if you pay more attention to the details, it becomes less ambiguous. We should take the time to let each instrument have the ability to solo in a song.

“What my drummer wanna say?
Listen 2 my bass man play
Listen 2 the guitar play”

I live for solos because we all got something to offer. If there’s one thing I can set aside as a valuable experience with Prince, is that he takes you on this journey! He’s shared his life through his music. This is one luxury of FUNK – there are places you did not know you can go. Remember when joining in the journey with Prince – bring your foot pray Cuz it’s gonna be funky!

“Just when U thought it was safe 2 go outside

Eye hit your ass with another funky design

And it’s real good

U thought it wasn’t when U shoulda

Checked yourself before U got another foot in your ass

And now it comes 2 pass another phat shot from the higher class

That’s right, U’re still a rookie, see

Kickin’ it with the grown folks in the wrong key

Honey please, U need 2 find

Somebody that’ll hip U 2 the funky design

Shouts out 2 the rookies, put it in the bank

And let it gain a cent or 2 until it just stanks

And flows, your nose will know

When it’s all wrinkled, then it’s good 2 go

On the fire, I would be a liar

If I didn’t say I wanna take U higher

And hip U 2 the one-eyed bass

Listen 2 the solo while it pleads my case

And just when U thought it was over, it started up again

Kickin’ so loud that it’s sure 2 frighten and win

Gossip again? Ho-hum

Listen 2 my drum

When eye 1st heard ur face

Listen 2 my bass

Time will tell who we r

Listen 2 my guitar”

Prince / A Sudden Transcendence

A flood of emotional experiences parades my mind in light of the N.E.W.S of April 21st, 2016. I don’t think any of us expected it to come so soon. On A full moon, Prince transcended this earthly dimension into a higher place. His kingdom in the heavens. It’s been an emotional roller-coaster 2.0 as everything just seems to linger at the center. If I am being completely honest, it feels as if the universe made a huge mistake.

Prince has been the soundtrack of my life for as long as I understood the depth of sound. He has a song for every emotion and experience. Which makes it extremely difficult. He’s everywhere. (The song ‘Everywhere’ from The Rainbow Children) If I want to get Mad // I think of the song ‘Mad’ composed in 1994 released on the NPG Music Club. When I listen to his songs about Joy // I then Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic. It goes on and on. A song with every feeling and emotion which carries me into a very intense realization.

Prince is one of those artists that constantly challenges and creatively keeps you on the edges of wonder. His music has really affected me in ways deeper than any other artist has, and this expedition is eternal. There seems to be an explosion of where to go when examining the large body of work he has! If you want to know anything, look deep inside your soul!

I was taken by surprise when I realized the soundscapes capable of being explored each and every time. Each time he took the stage, he could rearrange a song in a completely different form. Effortlessly he could combine several genres into one. He became one song and this one song was free.

Prince represented, stood for and embodied Freedom. There are no walls. There is no time. He made an example of this anytime he released a song, he would prove there was always more to find. Hidden treasures buried underneath multiple layers of sonic nirvana. I can speak forever about his music. I use to review his albums on my YouTube channel – it was only recently (about 2 weeks ago) when I decided to remove my album discussions. I enjoyed making these videos as it was so fun exploring the production and story that is enveloped in his songs. I removed my album discussions because I became aware that my opinions of his songs evolved with my experiences. I realize that music is one of the best diaries to any experience. I also realize that I didn’t feel it was necessary to review everything that was released. I can display my appreciation for the music in light of the inspiration that Paisley Park brought me. (I will upload those reviews online as landmark anniversaries come along 🙂

I’ve had amazing experiences and I am considerably thankful for all I learned since my journey began. Each of us has a Prince story. A time where we heard a song and were taken to a place or maybe even a one on one encounter with him. He’s touched the lives of so many and the reason for this, causes to us to celebrate.

It’s been marvelous to see all of the stories come out which display how many lives he has touched. From young to old. Musicians to Politicians. If you’ve heard his sound at all, you have been moved into a place of true respect. I’ve had the privilege of being closer to some of the magic by experiencing Paisley Park on the regular. Conducting the Studio Tours there, was a dream I never could imagine. Several times I was brought by surprise when he would show up. He’d always say Hi, and was quite the joker. One distinct time I remember is when I was at a private rehearsal with his newly formed band. Kirk Johnson On Drums, Mono Neon on Bass guitar , Donna Grantis on Lead Guitar, Adrian Crutchfield on Saxophone, and Prince primarily on keys (although he played guitar when he felt it)

I was working the teleprompter. Can’t mess that up right? Just scrolling up the lyrics as the music played along. Sounds easy enough right? Well, this one time the set list was not followed in order of the list. Which is to be expected, as Prince shuffles through his songs on a whim. I couldn’t exactly find the lyrics for Free Urself, and the band was playing as normal. Prince was in front of me and he noticed this and would always smile and look back. He had this smirk on his face that he kept giving it as he noticed the lyrics were not there. I was so nervous and was trying hard to find the lyrics. He stopped the music and laughed and said: “The Lyrics just seemed to disappear huh?” I explained they weren’t in the file, and he said “Cool – we can do something that is there. You pick.” So I choose ‘What It Feels Like” and he went through it. I felt so relieved but also felt I needed to step my game so that this could not happen again.

Couldn’t be more than ten seconds and he changed it up after saying “I’m feeling something a bit harder…” then we went straight into “Xtraloveable”. It was so funky, I could barely scroll up on the teleprompter and he looked back and said “You’re free to dance if you want to! You can dance and clap your hands…we’ll just jam! We know the lyrics to this one! Clap your hands and dance! It’s Alright!”

He made it possible to be free. (Even while you were at ‘Work’) To inspire for higher and to reach for broader places. He encouraged and demanded it. It was a necessity to reach out and to do the work. I am extremely thankful for the opportunities that have been given. I’ll always celebrate and remind myself that I was as close to the magic as I could be. I got to see a side to him that was music personified. A gift I’ll treasure for a lifetime.

We in the #PurpleArmy should feel blessed at the amount of music we have because of Prince. We can be captured by simply listening to the sound and for this, I’ll be eternally grateful. Thank you, Prince, for being a mentor, teacher, and the embodiment of music. You have forever changed and transformed the landscape of sound.

It’s been 3 months and the ✨✨✨transcendence✨✨✨ is still replayed in my mind. The life and legacy of Prince is everlasting. Always bouncing through the music and alive through the melody. With each song and rhythm of funk – I still feel the ✨✨✨transcendence✨✨✨. He’s forever embedded in the countless transformations left in every note of his sound. I still miss the constant mystery. The whole aura that multiples when you literally have no idea what can come next. The “You Never Know What Might Happen” The random invites to a party.

He may perform or he might just be teasing to keep us guessing. The new releases of music. (Even more so The Paisley Park Listening Sessions) The conversations that made everyone in the room silent. Prince was more than a musician who lived in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Anyone who followed along the ride was guaranteed a new experience. He encouraged us to surrender your expectations. He talked in a unique way – using words, letters, numbers, colors, and even symbols to convey his meaning. (Who else do you know – could be recognized by a symbol?)

PP11.18 (1).jpg

If you listened to the sound at all – you know! Damn. This is not only fun but life changing. He had us so hooked – one could not plan to do anything on Friday or Saturday because those days likely something may happen!

We began to count on a PPAD by studying the moon. Also the correlation between the number 7. He spoiled us and started to actually remind us when another party was near when the moon was either full or new. Sometimes – the party’s just happened privately and you needed the invite. 😀

I’m taking, this time, to reflect and to be thankful again to be apart of the experience. I’m pretty proud and thankful that it happened while I was alive. To step into that space. The feel of his studios. The smell of anticipation.

Conducting the studio tours at Paisley Park was an unforgettable experience. I remember going on one for the first time in September and was blessed by the opportunity to see real life history in each of his studios. Joshua Welton gave an amazing detailed breakdown of the studios while also giving us an exclusive listen to HitNRun Phase One. After finishing the tour – Kirk told me “Prince wants you to do the tours – will you be ready tomorrow?”

Wait. What. Pause.

Tomorrow?

He assured me I got the gig and this shouldn’t come as a surprise because they had prepared me for this all along.

I was sent bullet points on to what to say and it became a usual gig each time Prince opened up the doors at Paisley. What a blessing. Surprises were constant and it always exceeded the last experience.

I remember one distinct time a couple of friends and myself was invited to Paisley Park for a music video for Judith Hill. A lot of us showed up but we couldn’t be at Paisley until I was told when to come in. We met up at Houlihan’s for what felt like hours – just waiting for confirmation. I got the call only to be told it was canceled – and while we were all a bit upset we laughed and just shared Prince stories all throughout the night. A couple of the faithful ones were called ‘The True Blues” because we were always truly there. Always there to support and show our love for everyone involved in the Paisley experience.

Another time I got a call that a party was happening at Paisley Park. A couple of friends were invited and while Prince didn’t show up – Hannah’s and Josh’s (3EG) family were there and we danced with them and were invited to the kitchen to eat some food. They called this event a ‘Family Affair” we were delighted to be there. I told Kirk – Since we are family and all “Where is the aluminum foil?” Haha! He got a kick out of that – they didn’t have any foil but plenty of cups for us take with us! (Some of the best food I’ve ever tasted too!)

DinnerATPaisleyFamily Affair (1).jpg
We were always down for him regardless of what did or didn’t happen.

It wasn’t that long ago – and while seeing Prince always felt like a dream or some kind of distant ethereal dimension experience. I still miss him around and miss the humor and engulfing parade. I miss him on Twitter and his clever wit. His T.A.D. (Tweet and Delete) He’s left me with so many life-changing memories and I’ll never forget them. Thankful for the countless memories and great friends that were brought forth. “So much work to do…Everywhere. That’s what this is about. The Work. PT. Everlasting Now.

There Will Never Be Another Like Him – or like you. So let’s add more colors, numbers, symbols, and anything else to your own story – so we can do the work and remind people luv4oneanother is the only way.

Prince In New Zealand: An Unforgettable Parade of Jubilation

Last night was an energy parade. Energy beyond the ability sit down. Everything happened at such rapid and intense pace, my sensations are still processing. A magical night filled with illuminating depth. A number of surprises that preceded the event are way too ‘Willy Wonka’ Inspired to explain. 😀

A night filled with unexpected jams and smiles that lite up the room. It was the first time Prince performed in New Zealand and the 3rd time I’ve seen him outside of Paisley Park. The first time being at SXSW in Austin TX (My First Prince Show) // Second time in New Orleans – 3rd time in New Zealand.

The power of just Prince, with a piano and microphone, is literally an experience you would have to witness to truly get. Every crowd is different because each is equipped with different levels of vibration. Here in Auckland, the crowd was composed of intensity and rising anticipation which was met, with a satisfying delivery of funk.

Each snap of his finger was in a complete time of note and rhythm. He seemed to get a joy out of the reaction from the crowd as we were baptized with each pressing moment. It almost felt like the crowd in New Zealand couldn’t contain their thrill. There wasn’t a lot of room for slow ballads or anything too sentimental, as we were engaged in our conviction of energy.

With a career spanning over three decades, a plethora of songs was acknowledged with respect to space, which allowed smooth improvisation. The crowd moved accordingly with each swaying tune. From: I Wanna Be Your Lover, Strange Relationship, Purple Music, Noon Rendezvous, How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore, Condition Of The Heart, Raspberry Beret, Adore, The Ladder…Among many others)

(&HearingNoonRendezvousForTheFirstTimeWasJustAsIntoxicatingAsYouMightThink!) 🙂 🙂

By the time, he entered into Kiss – everyone was standing UP in unison singing with joy and refreshing flexibility. Prince couldn’t sit down either, as we charged him with just as much power he gave us. The exchange leaped from Spirit to Spirit. The house was packed, and from person to person above and below, astonishment rested on every heart present.

The piano provides so much space for warmth and depth, making it an incredible experience for what comes next. It’s pure Transcendence of what is and what ain’t.

image

The Set-list proved if anything, Prince has a song for every emotion. So many tunnels and avenues of emotion, that are explored through his discography. The arrangements of these songs on the piano are new and refreshing each time.

His expressions are something unforgettable and life-changing, you can’t help but smile and dance in gratitude that he’s still here doing what he loves best. And we love it too! He encouraged us to free ourselves, and to love ourselves because there’s so much work to do!

Special Shout out to Jeremy and Emily, who was with me every step of the journey. We can only think of the miraculous manifestations of the night.  It was their first time seeing him since 2012 for the ‘Welcome to Australia’ shows. So, for them to suspend in such ways was beautiful to witness.

EmilyJJBNW (2)

For a lot of people in the Theater,  it was their first time seeing him, and so their reactions pantomimed nothing short of jubilation.

And with that….

“Love Urself so we can love U 2! We need Ur help, there’s so much work to do.”

PRINCE – HITNRUN PHASE TWO (ALBUM THOUGHTS)

HNRPHASE2Uniformity (6)
Art Courtesy of Martin Homent! 😀

HitNRun Phase Two, ALL and Out stands as a remarkable reminder of Prince’s ability to sequence an album. While half of the album was released in some form, it was through this album release the strength of these songs came to focus. If You Can Describe it, It Ain’t Funky! However, a few common adjectives come to mind, when listening.

Bright, Colorful, Soulful, Sensual, Unique, and overall any synonym that rhymes with DELIGHT. A sensation, worth the thrill. You just got to listen. “Counter – Clockwise, Turn You Around – All U Got 2 Do is Listen 2 The Sound – Music Never Lies, U Know It’s True”

3EG PRINCE NPGHORNZ (548)

You can listen on Tidal or get the record through iTunes. It’s available and this is one of the best albums to come out this year. It’s been an incredible year for music, and when you think of the many sounds that can be discovered through Music itself – this will be a great surprise.

I had to discuss this album in some form, even though it is still processing within my music Psyche. With each Two Phases being released so close to each other (Phase One September 7th, And Phase Two  December 12th) – they each are finding a more delightful meaning over listening. It’s worth, listening to each of them back to back, then you’ll really be in for a music nirvana!

Phase Two provides a bit more anticipation as it builds higher with each song. Each song falls into the next, allowing more textures and tones. Phase One was a bit more SLAP in the face, as soon as you hear it – you’re ready to go, go go! Whereas with Phase Two, you are eased into the groove. You can’t help but listen very closely and like Dr. Seuss said it once “Oh! The Places, You’ll Go!”

Prince stretches your ears, and often bends your ideas and reminds you – music is improvisation and free. Arrangements are unique and the sound most of all, get you dancing and that’s just the start! You might end up crying at the end, Dancing in the mall,  grooving hard in the car, or caught in rapture out into the zone. You are guaranteed one of these experiences or them all while listening.

TRANSCENDENCE IN A PAISLEY ZONE

My experiences at Paisley Park have been a remarkable lesson in my growth and understanding of freedom! You are free to roam with sound and you never know just where it might take you!

Music acknowledges the very frame of your existence. From the amazing Sound coming from the speakers during a DJ Set, or when you hear the live music played present within a few meters. The truth is when sound can enter your body and you are covered with this music lotion of harmony and passion – it takes some time to get all settled in your pores.

Music like lightning strikes, and then there is the sound.

Sometimes, you see flashes of a particular event and you smile in silence because you remember just where and how you were changed in that exact moment!

IF EYE COULD GET UR ATTENTION was the first song Prince played when he went into his Solo Piano Set this last Saturday.

He’s got all of us, in complete attention in the direction he is leading. He’s gearing up for his Solo Piano and a Microphone Tour set in Europe later this month. It was very intimate and special to witness him just with a piano and a microphone. That’s all you need really. Prince is simply music. Whenever he is able to enter that zone, there is then transcendence.

An intimate moment, wherein emotion covers you. You feel the hairs on your skin start to rise. Some people cry, some can’t help but close their eyes and allow the music to undress memories. What is guaranteed is the moment you surrendered and allowed your vulnerabilities to show – it was connected to that special musical moment!

This continued throughout  Friday and Saturday night, where Prince surprised us with several rare and lesser-known songs. Including – Love Or $ taken from 1986 in the Under The Moon, When Will Be Paid, and an instrumental medley of ‘With You’ from his second studio album.

The surprises kept coming! Now, he could have stayed on the piano throughout the whole show, that would have been fine. BUT the last song Stratus just gave us the conviction needed that displayed just how incredible the music is at that place. Prince is an enterprise of sound, and the musicians around him are bringing out and adding to this sound landscape he has.

AND AFTER ALL OF THAT, he took us out to see 007 at a local theater. Now, I saw brief pieces of it before I knocked out, but I’ve been in the zone, all thanks to the moment of transcendence which happens quite frequently there! 🙂

2 Free Urself At Paisley Park 10.08.15

What made Paisley Park’s Show (10.08.15) quite Historic and Legendary for me were the sudden surprises throughout the night – which is what I aim to convey in this write-up! I talked in brief detail about this (Every Paisley Park Party with Danny L’Amour who is always there to add her joy and experience) You can check out that video by clicking HERE) I always appreciate when anyone watches and can feel as if they are there, by watching us discuss the nights at Paisley!

I was literally cooking Pasta, (Thankfully, it did not burn – I had it on low when I got the call 🙂 So there is a Private Event at Paisley Park, and I can invite some friends? I call my friends and we all scatter to get ready before we head out to Paisley Park.
We’re all in the Luv4OneAnotherRoom – DJ Kiss sets the tone, and it’s now time for The Dance.  This is when all of us dance until something happens. (The Dance continues throughout the night, as even Prince proclaims when he gets on stage DON’T STOP DANCING)
While dancing, we notice some more people show up through the back entrance. It’s Madonna’s crew – who eases into Paisley with a groove ready for the dance floor. At this point, the atmosphere just begins to become electric. Madonna shows up with an applause from the audience, and we can sense this will be a spectacular night!

For Starters, this was the first time since I have seen Prince with a different band other than 3rdEyeGirl. MonoNeon was on the bass guitar, Kirk Johnson was on Drums, Donna Grantis was on guitar, while Prince played guitar, piano, and sang.

The environment is all in unison, waiting in anticipation as Prince layers in with his fingers on the organ. It feels we have been invited to something special.

He starts off with his latest single ‘Stare‘. The bass pumps wild with MonoNeon chopping away with extreme funky precision. He opened up on the Organ, then proceeded on his guitar with rhythmic improvisation. The crowd applauded the moment he picked up his guitar! He knows we are gonna love it. Probably, not as much as he loves playing Guitar himself. He shreds on the song Guitar, telling us “I Love You Baby, but Not like I love my guitar! His chops were so clear and strong, conveying several monuments of emotion. When you thought the solo was over he found something else to bring out of it. After he finished all of his solos, he put the guitar down to head back to the piano, playing Use Me, A cover by Bill Withers – which added spice to the night.

His piano chops were easily rendered and soulfully magnetic. He changed the tempo towards to end so seamlessly in tune ready for the next number. Stratus, which came in – with a rock hard funk stimulation, which charged his band to tap into their space. Everyone was able to get in on the funk and Donna played with a blistering passion. We all had our eyes on her, as she shredded. I remember looking to my right – seeing Madonna just struck at the live performance from the band.

This pumped the set right into Ain’t About 2 Stop – which possessed a darker grunge appeal. The arrangement was similar to the Album’s version but with more space for instrumentation. Donna came back with her guitar wailing while Prince chopped around on his piano.  1,000 X’s & O’s enforced us all to return to a sense of soul and direction. His vocals sounded so clear and his falsetto could not be beaten. By the time, he went into The X’s Face, I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. I was pleased to hear these songs in a live setting. Mono Neon added to the funk by his unique ability. He had me floored, by his timing and arrangement. He knew just where to come in. The crowd and energy were given so much at such sudden times.I think Prince knew this so he gave us a break for a while so that DJ Kiss could return back us back dancing. I think after a while he noticed our STARE as we were completely focused on the sounds ahead of us. 😀
He returned back with ‘Free Urself‘ by inviting us to dance on stage with him, which was one of the highlights of the night. We all got down and screamed with passion “FREE URSELF” We were so loud and in time, there was a moment where Prince asked “You all got your passports?! I might need to take you all on tour with me! ” Free Urself released so much energy and power out of us, we didn’t know where to go after that!?

What would top that?

The crowd dwindled to about 15 of us, and a lot of people thought he wouldn’t return on stage, but they were wrong.

About 10 minutes later, we hear Sign O’ The Times being looped – while Prince has his ax strapped on him. He chants “ooh Wee Oh, Ohh!” We all follow his direction and then he changes the tempo a bit to go into Work To Do by The Isley Brothers. He improvises with his guitar and wails out for a moment to ‘America’ which plunged us into higher heights. By the end of Sign O’ Times / Work To Do – he finishes off by saying “Thank U All! GOOD NIGHT!

We are all sweating and shocked by the night’s power and are only HUNGRY for food! He fed our souls, our feet, our spirits, and our hearts. LIKE only he could Do – AND NOW I’ve only had the time to process! One of the most extraordinary realities after leaving Paisley Park is the Process that comes afterward. The experience of that place pulls you with such thrill and fascination; while engaging the live moments – every part of you is affected. You are looking, hearing, and overall experiencing what is before you.

In Summary, A Paisley morning is a sunrise! Once, I awaken with the joy of the day, I am given the inspiration to recall the blessings music gives. Live Music, in particular, allows electricity to flow through your body, and you are often brought to spiritual recognition! What an honor and gift it is, to witness creation being tapped into by true artists.

I’m FREED!

PRINCE – PAISLEY GUIDE AND CELEBRATION (NITE 3)

Danny and eye, finally catch up and after Paisley Park! U know, talking about the latest Paisley Thrills.

Thank You, Danny, for breaking down the events in the night, for those who were not included (Including Me)

It’s in the NRG. The embrace of what looks like the end will be returned unto you a thousandfold. It’s only a measure of your faith! How often do you hunger for the wealth of what’s more? It’s all about the energy you give. Give one and it shall be given back to you. The matrix of the plural. 🙂 I believe it!

Paisley Park felt like it supplied recognition for me. ALL of the sounds enhance equilibrium& when you are surrounded by friends and love, you can’t help but dance!

SO thank you to PRINCE, 3EG, Kirk Johnson, and everyone involved! Blessings and love!

What’s happening In The World?!

A Paisley Peace For Baltimore

image

Lately, I’ve been discussing the recent Paisley Park Experiences with friends, and how spontaneous they are. You aren’t always given any warning, sometimes only three hours before it begins. Unlike several previous times, we were informed through  @PURPLESSENCE (Paisley Park’s Official Twitter Handle) a night before, after reading Iris Perez’s detailed experience at Paisley herself, that there would be a Dance Party in light of the recent Baltimore Uprising. 30$ Cover.

How does one invite someone to something as spontaneous as Paisley Park?! “Hey, Prince is opening his studio, and you are invited! It goes on for about five hours at a time, could be longer but it’s ultimately determined by this thing we call ‘The Everlasting Now’. We don’t know if he’s gonna perform, but there will be great dancing and 360 sound in the best sound spaces you could imagine! You down?

How does one turn that down? That’s the thing: YOU DON’T. You just GO! Every experience at Paisley is different and seemingly always tailored for the occasion.

Before the show even started, we were entertained by the two DJ’s out, making sure our feet raced on the carpet in the Luv4OneAnother room. A room allowing of space, but extremely faint compared to the Main Sound Stage. Our feet needed more room to play. There were about 300 of us there as a family unit. We were then carried through visual time travel to the Main Sound Stage.

Soul Train clips plastered on the screen, all seemingly in sync with the music played. (Shout out to Rosie Perez, as she demonstrated some of the most fly moves on screen – responded by Denise…as she shared some taunting moves too!!)

Soul Train then morphed into select pieces of artwork, dressed on the projector, in high definition, which served as a great lucid endearment. But then there is a live video to get you going too! Several, 3rdEyeGirl – videos from London were shown. Alongside with never before seen clips. The private performance of Lianna La Havas was shown at her home in London, that she did earlier last year.

Including the video (Which was only available as audio before) from The Infrared Showcase, that was briefly online on YouTube – a show for Appolonia who starred in Purple Rain – Seeing Prince play Endorphinmachine and ‘She’s Always In My Hair’ right before her, was a magical thing to witness.

An emotional tear evoking performance of Jimi Hendrix on guitar had us all soul lifted. Liv Warfield alongside, in the visual experience, made up for a great night. I’d pay 30$ just to see that again. It was crafted so well and really had your heart beating for the next page.

We all enjoy when Prince performs, it is the closest thing we have to conversation without actually speaking to him.

Music is Prince’s language.

We tend to underestimate the language in which Prince speaks through his music. This man is literally an instrument, and he is capable of talking with more than his voice.  He uses instruments to channel his raw emotional rendition; whether it’s his guitar, keyboard, or even bass guitar. All which he played last night, in very select parts of the show. Prince doesn’t simply play music, he is music. Engaging instruments like a scientist, utilizing space, to engage in a significant conversation with musical rhetoric.

It seemed he had a story to tell concerning the recent chaotic experiences. Starting off with Chaos & Disorder and falling into Dreamer. “Chaos & Disorder, ruling my world today”.

Dreamer is one of the most memorable of the night. Prince puts down his Ax for a brief moment only to play around with his keyboards. He remained there for about five minutes, to offer a rendition that was more than words can say. Lost, through his keyboard and synth stabs, he was caught within space. After feeling satisfied with his delivery of piano ministry, he heads back to his guitar with a little bit more to say.

“Peanut Butter Logic – Served on a bed of lies, don’t go down to easy when you see your Daddy crying. Have you ever clutched the steering wheel of your car – tight? See in Chanhassen we ain’t scared of the police at night, but I wasn’t always here..”

(Prince hasn’t always been in the best sides of town, he knows how the cops can be in less progressive and privileged communities)

He made mention of the chemicals chasing people at night in the skies – Encouraging the crowd to keep our 3rd Eye Open… Like CBS “So that we could SEE their B.S.”

Prince being aware of the struggles that certain communities experience.

He asked:

“Where you from?”

While answering through his guitar – a melodic sadness which seemed to correspond to what comes from being questioned by the police.

Crimson And Clover was accentuated by Donna’s divine guitar playing. The song reached the boiling point in which Prince delivered the first striking guitar solo. A guitar story which reached a climatic baptizing, wherein Prince expressed his most sensual and pulsating guitar mannerisms like he was simply drinking water.

The crowd engaged repeating “Over & Over..”

We then are reminded, He loves us- But not like his Guitar. And we can see Donna LOVES her guitar too.

Prince really enjoys talking with his guitar, it seems. Sure, he has his loves, but when he plays guitar – we can see,  he loves that a bit more.

What is Plectrum Electrum?! It’s a guitar pick that is in an electric relationship with emotional translation. He explains with Donna just what Plectrum Electrum is. Guitars echo with extreme fire and awakening power.

The crowd cheers and all of us scream. More!

He then gets on the bass guitar and performs ‘The Whole Of The Moon” (A cover by the Water Boys)

Easily the funkiest part of the night, The full of the moon punctuated the experience of the night.

Prince invited several people on stage to harmoniously groove our way back to the Dancefloor.

While he didn’t perform the new song, Baltimore like he did for Iris. We got a whole lot of music that redeemed the conversation on Freddie Gray, and what’s going on in Baltimore. Prince doesn’t have to call it by a song name, he said what he needed in the arrangement and heart of the night.

Another Paisley Night covered by pure passion. An emotional experience that is molded by the gift of music. Sure it was entertainment but it felt like a Love Trip. It’s an experience – an emotive spiritual consequence is born at that place. The sudden nature of spontaneous dictum declares a victorious revival. Energies are restored, feet (while battered and bruised from dancing) travels the distance needed for redemption. The Cycle of The Moon Effects The Motion of the Sea What You Did Prince?! On top of that – it’s spent with friends and family!  Thank YOU to Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL.
“We R 3RDEYEGIRL AND SO ARE YOU”.

Set List For The Curious (Keep In Mind..A Song Title is what it is. The name of the song. It doesn’t at all speak to how he translated it live and what emotion was geared in when we heard it)

Intimate Realization of Separation Becoming ONE

There was this tragedy that happened on the news in the dream, and everybody knew about it but nobody wanted to talk about it because they were too awkward. It was on the tip of everybody’s tongue but they were all too scared to say anything in case it might offend someone, I guess. I walked into this room full of people awkwardly sitting around and you could just FEEL that they all knew the same thing, but nobody said anything about it – so there was this state of disconnection and I myself felt too awkward to say anything.

Suddenly it dawned on me again how we are all connected, we’re all the same – and that it must be ME that makes the change and it will send ripples throughout the people. I spoke up, and there was an initial state of “shock” that I would speak about such things, but then there was this wave of relief throughout the whole room because it is what everyone ultimately wanted deep inside – they all NEEDED to talk about it, but nobody wanted to bring it up.

Those moments are the most revealing of our individual power – and our state of connection to all beings. One person changes the whole room – or the whole crowd – by a simple movement.

A realization of connection which leads to an action – and soon the barriers are broken, and people remember their place in this code. Upon knowing that we are one – it looks so silly to walk in and to see so many aspects of ourselves hiding behind their persona or being too afraid to speak on something which they KNOW you’re aware of. And then you suddenly click to the fact that those people are a reflection of your own inner fears. The moment you release that fear and SPEAK UP – all of those people magically lose their fear too and then THEY speak up.

It is a ripple effect that starts from within and moves out into the world around us, because as Prince says, “EVERYTHING IS YOU.” (AFFIRMATION III IS SPOKEN THROUGH Charlotte Ann Telepathy)

Change.

It’s the very key to a comedian’s success – you know the way their whole career revolves around simply telling us things that we do in our daily lives – but that we’re too afraid to speak about because we think we’re the only one who does them. The laughter is created by the NEED to release that energy and to feel “hey, we’re all the same, and everybody does the same things, thinks the same thoughts, and feels the same way as me!” and that relief we all feel takes us one step closer to the intimate realization of separation becoming one.

You might not have gone through the same suffering, but you understand suffering from your perspective.

“Ask the Victor ’bout pain and rejection, U think he don’t when he do understand”. (The Sacrifice of Victor – The Love Symbol 1993)

Enthusiasm within yourself creates enthusiasm all around you – depression in yourself makes everyone around you depressed – a smile catches – so BREAK THE ICE with the heat of calculated awareness, and watch the waves ascend!

Venom Sketch

It’s safe to say – I had one of the most amazing weekends of my life! Completely filled with sheer supernatural bliss! Very unprecedented and even as I type these words, I am possessed with such wonder!  “Did that really happen? / Did I really stand steps away from The greatest instrument in modern music? ” Dreams of “Paisley Park” became reality when I actually stepped into the doors! It was a very intimate, and sensual experience that gave my journey a blissful meaning! NOT TO mention, the BEST breakfast!

One of the most exciting elements of this journey this weekend; was meeting the muse, of a poem I wrote not long ago. I saw an image of a feminine figure and she spelled her ink and captured wise pieces! Moments that were sheer poisonous yet appealing. When I went to Minnesota to meet up with my friend Danny L’amour. Through our conversations, I developed such a conversation that realistically she enveloped the writing I wrote. In our depth of sentences, she revealed her essence. I realized while talking to her – she was the woman eye saw while writing this. That had never happened before to me on that level, I was actually meeting the unknown, and it was such a powerful piercing of wonder!

The imagery of soft pastels you cast send a burning reaction down my veins.

Such excitement which is a foretaste of pleasurable manifestations of serene divinity.

With my eyes; I have begun to taste your insight into what dances before you.

In this particular frame, I marvel at the cognitive renaissance your composition lies.

My questions vanish as I allow your continual charm to answer my begging wonders.

Will you stroke me, as you, stroke the brush that highlights into your clouds?

The journey begins at where my thoughts pass before your sketch.

Have you made up the coloring of your distant abbreviations?

Nearly the shadow of your focus arises over your construction.

Blistering levels of venom intoxicate me by the embrace of your wise sketch.

Thank YOU, for being the muse and for being among the wisest sketches. Your artwork is still embedded within me. I am examining the silence you translated to me. I truly believe I have sat under your construction. You’re going to see me! You sold me a city, that I am only lengths away from experiencing! This is true, and the colors are within me!

Meeting Prince For The First Time (3 YEARS AGO)

Image

I was going through some old blog posts, and I found a blog where I discussed meeting him in a dream. Three Years ago exactly today, I wrote a blog about meeting Prince. This was right at the start of my Prince adventure. I did not know hardly anything about his albums, sure I knew some information about his stand on the music industry, but not much more about him, I really knew. THAT all changed when I saw him on the BET Awards in 2010. He looked familiar but also someone who I had no idea where he came from. I remember they honored him, and he stood out to me. Almost like somebody who I was going to meet and that happens to me sometimes. NO. I am not this meditative weirdo, stalking person around because I feel a ‘Connection’. HA! BUT sometimes you can recognize a past, present, or future presence that has not fulfilled themselves in the moment you remembered them. AND when the truth sounds like a memory, it’s meant to be right? (Prince is not the truth, but he is a medium I met in time and space, that I dreamed about conversing withMind you three years ago, a lot in my life was very different. I just got out of High school and straight into my first serious relationship. It was also a time where I studied and became deeper into the sharing of the ‘Gospel’ my interpretive illustration of this, is funny to read again, but even more amazing, to know some of it came true, and the rest may possibly be in the works? WHO KNOWS? THIS was before my YouTube Channel. Long before I knew anything about Prince’s prolific nature of an artist. I guess you can say, I had never heard more than 7 FULL songs by Prince. Nevertheless, I wrote this:

“I just had the craziest dream! That, I just met Prince in person! I’m sure this was caused by the BET awards 2010. Not only did I meet him, but I shared with him the gospel of Jesus Christ! Lol. It was spectacular!  He had the same outfit he wore at the BET awards, & he started to cry, & we were just rejoicing in God! And I shared with you all, how & where I met him on Tumblr in the dream. I don’t know why I had this dream, and I don’t know why I’m sharing it with you all! Haha. (Maybe because I did in the dream?..lol) But it’s one of those things that rarely happens to me. I’ve always admired Prince & his talent. The fact that he’s a mysterious person, changing his name to a symbol. His style and extreme lean to a sexually provocative message. The guy is a mystery. He has so many sides to him, he believes his music should be controlled by him since he wrote & produced it all. Therefore, you won’t find hardly ANY youtube videos with him and his craft there, because currently, he believes the world should not see this or listen to them, without his sole permission. So now, it’s not easy to get a hold of Prince & his previous music videos and live performances. He’s a changed man, who’s very much consumed in his faith. I respect him very much, I don’t know what persuaded me to tell you this? BUT. There’s one thing the world can’t deny: The ongoing transformation & mystery of Prince. I feel we’ll never know until slowly he reveals something new! Prince is the man, though! His influence has reached millions!” -Jestereye7x – (6.29.10. https://tinyurl.com/yapbouqh

I find this post so incredible, because who would have ever thought I would actually get a chance to meet him? Sure, I did not talk about Faith and God, (Not at length anyway) but we did meet, and talking to him at all was literally a dream that came true. I’ve learned so much more about Prince since three years and I realize that he is a one of a kind, artist. Still glad for the knowledge and the mutual understanding and respect I have for his craft. Three years, later, I’ve grown to see his many changes and his constant musical serenades. He constantly reinvents himself and he is a teacher to me. SCHOOL IS IN PEOPLE.  Prince is cool, blessed to realize the metamorphoses and kept stories to tell!

Rebel Sensation

I think they HEARD us. The careful movements in which our whispers were made known appeared as rocks falling from a cliff.

I think they FELT us -we were consumed in a fire while trying not to burn down the walls which kept us secret.

I think they SMELLED us – We burned down and the ashes of our beings have created a traceable smoke that is absorbed miles afar.

I think they TASTED us – Our lingering aroma seemed to find itself on the tip of their tongue, which gave a reminiscent delight.

I think SEEN us – We tried to escape, but the nakedness of our innocence proved far too exposed than our dress desired to accomplish…

I think we know all of these things sensed rebel inclination

It’s interesting when we examine the senses that ever so closely are realized through the nature of someone’s insight. It’s quite interesting how I came up with this piece, it is a hilarious but yet so very embarrassing story. Need I explain?

I don’ think I’ll explain that! ALL I know is, after it was over, we both seemed to realize what it means to be a rebel.

Nakedness, exposure, and shame are all of these things seem to have a motivation.

Home

For some reason, I have been studying the notion of ‘Home.’ One of the reasons the ‘Roman Empire’ fell down, according to Edward Gibbon (1787). “The rapid increase of divorce; the undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home, which is the basis of human society.”

Home is one of the most sacred and important family dominions that we have. If the home is destroyed, there is not much more to keep the family going.  Home is more than four walls and a place to keep our feet at bay. Home is where we understand life and unconditional love by the eternal bay of where we are.  Bria Valente sung this song quite well on ‘Elixer’. Surely, she was likely speaking of a sugary coating, and more of a metaphorical depth. 😀

I came down 2 find U here

Celibate & all alone
Travelin’ N a caravan of Isis tears
I’ve come 2 claim U 4 my own

Of course U’re scared the first time I appear
Because many seek ur throne
There’s no need to worry, no need 2 fear
U should just feel at home

Home, home, home, at home
Home, home, home, at home, home

And I keep it down, U were up in arms
A house full of thieves and liars
A restless heart so easily charmed
Could end up in a bed of fire

Of course U’re scared first time I say
Let me help U tap on that dome
There’s no need 2 run from ur one and only desire
I’ve come 2 bring peace 2 ur home

Home, home, home, Ur home
Home, home, home, Ur home

I came down 2 hear U say
At last, U’re finally satisfied
There was never any other who could ever be Ur lover
And never truly get inside U

Touch the core of what we all live 4
Everlastin’ paradise
But U see that in Ur life there R many houses
But now U’ve finally got a home

Home, home, home, a home
Home, home, home, a home

I only wanna cleanse Ur feet with Isis tears
And make U feel at home
I only wanna cleanse Ur feet with Isis tears
And make you feel at home

Home, home, home, home, home, home
Home, home, home, welcome home
Home, home
